Halo Reverse Hood Kit
I been looking at the some threads a few years back about these kits seems more negative then positive. My car is a show car, so wanting to add something unique to it. Just wanted to get some updates who have had their kits for awhile. Pros and cons?
Thanks. |

The only drawback on mine is that it is difficult to work on the engine. No other issues.

Not if you take the time to adjust everything properly.

Took mine off after 4 months and threw it away. It's not that it's made badly it's just that the hood is very shaky and unstable when it's up on a windy day as an example. With all the adjusting in the world as well as trimming the lip off the fender on the passenger side it still rubbed/touched. As a result the passenger side of the hood stuck up a bit.

No. With the kit, it is a two person job and then you have to realign everything once it is back on.

It was a great looking kit.
I had it on my car for 2.5 years. After 2.5 years the kit wasn't in good shape. The hardware all started to rust and discolor. The hood wouldn't align any more and had to be guided down and into place. The hood actually started to warp from being open and closed the wrong way so many times. The pistons lacked the ability to hold the hood up properly and needed to get new ones after 2 years. The wind could blow the hood down easily and it would smash off the hinges. Thank fully it never damaged the fenders. It ended up being more of a hassle to keep and took it off.
