2014 with a spring loaded isolator .. WTF

I have a 2014 ZL1. I am having some upgrades put in, so I dropped by the shop today to see how the work was going, and they had just removed the supercharger lid and snout. To my surprise there was a spring loaded isolator in my supercharger... WTF? You would think that by the 2014 model year Chevy would have known better. I wonder if my supercharger will be included in the recall eventually... According to GM, not at this time. Either way I had them change it out. The spring loaded one was in good shape because I only have 5900 miles on my car, but I am not taking any chances.

When was your car built? Some early '14s were reported to have received the spring isolator coupling.

I believe that year they quit building them in November and started again in February due to all the tire problems

They won't do anything until you start hearing noises. Mine was built on the last week in November, so I hope I was one of the units with the solid isolator. If not, then I'll deal with it.

gee I had the upper pulley replaced a while ago and I could have sworn the shop told me that it didn't have a spring load isolator, I hope I either misunderstood them or they replaced it when they did the job, I have build number 492. would anyone know if the shop would have had to replace this part as part of the job? or ? Is there any way of knowing whether it was replaced?.

thanks

^mine is 1360. Hard to say what happened. Mine is quiet as a mouse, but then again I have very little usage so far. My friend's '11 CTS-V, you can definitely hear those marbles jumbling around under there, and even he doesn't have 3k miles yet.

No they do not have to replace it to do the job but most reputable shop will change it if they see it and you cant miss it... Ask the shop or check your bill for the part charge

What is your build date month/day? The date is located on the label along the drivers side door jam (B-pillar).

With this car being built in December and being number 1503, is it safe to assume I have the solid isolator?
