6 speed 9 second guys-questions!

For all the 6 speed 9 second guys-what's all needed? What did you upgrade, what did you break? Tire wheel combo? What clutch? How are you launching? Slipping it or dumping it?

I have only heard of one guy doing it once on a magical pass. LPE may have also done it a few years ago but I don't think it was full weight.

There's a Black 6 Spd ZL1 but he's not on this site, he runs low 9's with a 150 or 200 shot of NOS, similar setup as Camarovigoa, but a 6 speed instead of an auto..

Is that all? Wow. I have dreamed about 9 seconds in the quarter mile, but i"m a long way off. Just trying to get into the ten second mark first. I did find this.

Yep, limited for sure for us 6 spd guys, I'm hoping to make it out at the beginning of the season so the air is decent here, we don't get that -1000, -500, 0 or even 500 here, be happy with 1000', track is 1330' elevation, but it's so hot and humid here the air sucks, normally 2,200' to 3,400' adjusted so 9 sec anything would be unreal.

That's a fast turbo car, nowhere close to putting all the power down.

Need to upgrade tranny for sure. Eventually it will give out. And clutch. In that video that's my buddy's car B(lazindorito)and that's me off to the left recording. He made 2 9 second passes that day. PM Blazindorito on here, I'm sure he will point you in the right direction

I have a 1LE and as of last year I'm a little ways from 9.xx but that is the plan for this year. I'll tell you if you haven't already changed the clutch you definitely will have to. I made several passes on a 150 shot and it was fine. As soon as I went to a 200 it hated life. Don't chance it coming apart on you. It'll cost a LOT more if it does.

You are going to need more power than that

I think Ray will get it. I've hung out with him at a bunch of the races.

Yeah they have a very nice setup for sure, never drag raced on their track, but raced my 250 Superkart there many times over the years.
