Cool Detailed instructions and pics of RX Monster Catch Can install on 2016 Camaro SS

Okay, I want to make sure everyone gets a catch can. I don't care what brand, so long as it works. There are several viable options. Today I installed the RX Monster Can. They call it the Monster because it holds a lot of capacity. Somewhere between 20-32 fl oz. To me, this was the selling point. I will say this can wasn't cheap, but it is extremely effective and won't fill to max as often as other cans on the market. If your can is full, and you continue to drive, bad stuff happens. Capacity is a huge perk of this can - I can not stress that enough. It also has a built-in 1/4 turn drain valve. You'll never need to remove the can from the car once properly installed. This can will mount to the driver's side cylinder head utilizing an unused bolt hole. Also, you will need a box cutter or X-Acto knife. You will be manually cutting lengths of tubing.

With that said, as a disclaimer - several people had issues out of this brand on the 5th Gen Camaro. It wasn't common, but it did happen. It seems that the problem was with the 1-way check valves included with the kit. Sometimes, they would apparently freeze up when cold, and allow pressure to build in the crankcase. Thankfully, you don't have to install the 1-way check-valves. They are OPTIONAL. GM doesn't use them in the factory setup, and neither did I. I would suggest not using them unless you are under forced induction. The same goes for the clean side separator (the piece that replaces the oil cap). Completely unnecessary. GM has a solution for the clean side on the 2016 Camaro.

Now, to the install and pics... You will need to go to the hardware store and buy a bolt, washer, and lock washer. The bolt size is a 3/8" (can't remember thread pitch. 16 or 24) x 1" long. Stainless would be my choice. Everything else is included with the kit. It comes with a lot of little additional pieces to make your setup work. When it is installed, the can will be almost invisible. You will need to remove the intake tube and air filter housing to drain it. That takes around 2 minutes tops. For the rest, I will tell my story with pics...

Thanks to you I had a foundation to work with. I basically copied your install. I just wanted to make some clearer pics for those wanting to have some options. In the end, it was totally worth it. I hope you and I help a lot of people.
