If you read the article, it infers that superchevy did the whole thing including the dyno. CAI, themselves do not show this install or run, so I can only assume this is an honest atempt to measure the true performance via second source. I will dyno my car after the MSD, CAI, tune, Cat delete and maybe the exhaust, probably in the next few weeks.
Was done in conjunction with CAI though, I will wait for an fully independent test...the hp number I can see, but the torque number seems oddly high...there is a thread on the same subject on the Facebook 6th gen group.

note that 21 HP was gained by the CAI swap and the Vette IMO has a better stock induction system.
What does this have to do with the CAI intake though?

1- It's a C7.
2- It's using a Haltech intake.
3- The dyno was after a cam and header swap, plus a tune.

Someone said it might only lean out the Air - Fuel ratio but not sure if that would hurt the engine in the end or not. Thoughts are greatly appreciated from all. Thank you kindly!
REZRKTD,

Thanks for the question! Our intake system can be installed at any time and is totally safe/ will not void your warranty. Many customers have already installed their intake on a new car with fewer than 500 road miles. Thanks and have a great day!

I installed mine today and no matter how I moved the tube/filter I had this gap between the lip of the filter and the heat shield. The gap faces the front bumper where I imagine is where most of the air comes from.

Is this normal and will it impact airflow/performance?

Thanks for reaching out. From what we can see in the pictures your install looks correct. The filter and MAF housing do enter the intake box at a slight angle by design therefore creating the small gap you are experiencing. The MAF housing seals where it enters through the box eliminating the chance that you will be pulling hot air from the engine bay. Thanks again

Thank you for the followup. It's been less than 40 miles and a day but so far I'm loving your product. Thanks again.

Is the little box on the side on the intake a noise reducer? If so can't the be eliminated?

Laynlo15,

Thanks for the question. The box that slides into the intake is actually a moisture trap for the PCV system. The tube that slides into the intake elbow at a 90* angle is the sound enhancer tube that runs to the cabin/interior of the car. The moister catch is not something we would choose to eliminate as it serves a purpose in the PCV system. Thanks!

Quick install, just takes about 30 minutes. The old air box just pops out and the new one pops in, as said above be careful with the MAS when taking it out of the old tube and putting in back in the new one. Everything else is very straight forward.

I may have missed this earlier in the thread, but what's the difference between this and the GMPP intake?
