Rear Blackouts: Matte or Gloss
Simple question. I'm just interested in what everyone thinks. I'm not sure I've seen a blackout in anything but a satin or matte finish, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't look good. What are your thoughts? Should it match finish the stripes? Be matte regardless?

I have gloss black out and hood spears. It look almost like it is painted.

I'm surprised only a couple of people have said Matte. Weren't the classic blackouts all painted with a matte finish?
Anyone have pictures of their gloss blackout?

A rear blackout is traditionally done in flat or semi-gloss black, and quite frankly looks the best that way. I'd recommend a non-glossy finish.

Sorry. Maybe that was my mistake. This would be a blackout for the rear decklid.

I have glossy blacked out bowties on both front and rear. I posted pic's of the car with a carbon fiber hood in the CA thread.

I try to avoid blackouts where ever I can. It gets boring after a couple of hours with no TV - can't watch the game, beer gets warm and the ice cream winds up melting all over the freezer.
When we had the blackout in the summer of 2002 it was hot and so without the a/c it was a sucky night....:(
