Got mine installed by Steve himself at C5 Fest. The vents are probably the best MOD and the most unnoticeable. Best part is that they actually work in reducing heat temperature under the hood.

For those who have them, how many use the drip trays? Seems like those would seriously reduce airflow/heat dissipation. Or do you only use them when there's a chance of water exposure?

Left them off. I just have to clean my engine cover more often.

I run mine without all the time. However, car not driven in the rain. I can tell you with trays off you see heat rising from the bay. Has to help leaving them out.

Another tid bit---If you own Hex vents and use or dont use trays your hood liner if using an OEM hood will become soiled after time regardless. The hood liner soaks up the water and also the suds from car washes. Over time water stains will be present. Have yet to see a car with Hex vents not have this. Hoodliners are about $100 if occurs and picky like me. My new hood from MPD1 doesnt use a hood liner so no worries for me any longer.

I use hex vents without the trays to help vent the heat from the supercharger, especially here in hot Las Vegas. Not a daily driver so I dont have any issued with the hood liner getting wet or dirty. I powder coated mine to match the car color.

Would the hex vents have clearance issues with the water trays if not using the stock strut tower brace? I am using the strut tower brace from BMR #STB017.

I have the gm brace and not an issue. Any idea how much taller the BMR is? Just got installed this past saturday by Steve at Hex Vents. I just removed my water trays to see how bad it gets wet.

Here is my link...first set of pics are missing thanks to my wife, but scroll down and u will see them. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=457130

Also, if you go with the vents, just drive up the coast and have him install them. He will give you a good deal on the labor.

I will have to check to see how much taller my brace is and will most likely do a road trip to have them professionally installed when I make the purchase.

After doing some measuring, the BMR strut tower brace is 1 3/4" in height from the engine cover. Would this clear the water trays when closing the hood?

I should try removing my drop trays.. I never drive in the rain. I can't recall (car in storage). Can you just unhook those from below and be good to go?

i cant help u with the measurement as i have a intake spacer on my car so the cover would sit higher then stock. Maybe call or email BMR and ask if its taller

They unscrew from underneath. I took out the rain deflectors and reinserted the bottom tray to give added strength to the vents.
