I've been looking for that tapshift on the shifter! Where did you get it? Are they still available?

CFD is a sponsor in the vendor transmission section... I believe he made and still makes those shifters with the Tapshift integrated.

Hi Guys
I still offer the tapshifters. I also make a couple of different ones than the one posted. I believe the bottom of pg 5 shows all of them. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=379915 |

The T20 set screw in my auto shifter just spins and does not back out. Any ideas on how to get it out? I have a Drake to install if I can get the original one out.

The hole in the shifter shaft has only about two full threads so they can strip easily. It sounds like this may be the reason yours won't back out. If there is some way you could pull outward on the screw while turning it may come out but it is recessed and hard to get at. The other alternative would be to use a pair of side cutters and cut away at the shifter around the screw. It is all plastic so won't be difficult, you will sacrifice your shifter though. Once you get the handle off you can check the threads, if they are stripped, which I suspect, you will need to replace the whole shifter assembly.
