The power to weight ratio leaves me thinking, no big deal. Sure hope a blower is in the pipeline. The rear end was not done well. The rest of the body looks great.

I got so tired of reading halfway through the thread, I just had to post...This car is absolutely AWESOME LOOKING. I can't wait til MONDAY. My hat is off to the entire GM design staff......what an excellent job. My tears are welling as I type this. I will own one of these new Camaros, and I will own it until the day I die.

You know what, I was really trying to hold out. I really thought it would just be best to keep working on Hot Rodding my Mustang more and more, but damn it my will just isn't that good.

I must have a new Camaro SS. I MUST I MUST I MUST. I will deploy to Iraq later this year, and when I come back around DEC 2009. I WILL buy one! There is no resisting anymore.

Hmmm, I have noticed a lack of the "big dogs" commenting on this thread, I wonder if this is a leak or one of those well thought out GM "leaks" that has everyone dropping their jaws in amazement.

I have to say very, very impressed..halos, afterburners...I just wish the damn thing had sirius not XM. The RS package has some very appealing elements, but I really want my V8.

I'm pysched that the HP rating is higher than most people thought! (416 versus 400-405). Can't wait to see pics of the SS. Hopefully the shifter in the SS will be of billet aluminum like the prototype. The RS looks pretty mean in its own right!

Didn't see this posted here yet, I apologize if it is out there somewhere. Motor Trend put their stuff out. Originally they just had an article about the UK site that broke the embargo and what they said. This has some more details on the LS/LT packages and when you the guages on the console etc.

Can't remeber where I saw this thread but the figures below were quoted.

Wheelbase: 112.3 in Length: 189.6 in Width: 75.9 in Height: 53.8 in

I converted the above inches into millimetres to compare against the monaro

Wheelbase: Camaro (112.3") 2852mm Monaro: 2788mm
Length: Camaro (189.6") 4815mm Monaro: 4789mm
Width: Camaro (75.9") 1927mm Monaro: 1841mm
Height: Camaro (53.8") 1366mm Monaro: 1397mm

From these it's going to be a reasonable size.

Either way, the car is absolutely beautiful - SEX ON WHEELS!!

Can't wait it it hits Oz.

As soon as a brochure is available can someone post it.

Cheers

It's either a speaker or a diffused HVAC vent like my VW has. It's visibly a grille in at least one picture.

Thank you for posting that picture. It demonstrates exactly what I tried to say in my post about it.

Every article I've seen says the V6 will have 296 HP. Here's a quote in Motor Trend from Oppenheiser:

When we spoke, Oppenheiser and his team had just completed the 80-percent powertrain calibration testing and were mum on not only the final horsepower and torque numbers, but the exact gearing as well. He did say to expect V-6 output north of 300 horsepower and 270-pound-feet on regular unleaded.

I know that it says the ss will have a 416 which is less than the charger/challenger 425. Do you really think chevy would put any thing less than 425 in the camaro. Guess we are all ging to have to wait till monday.
