I'm installing Kooks LTs with high flow cats. I guess I will worry about getting it smogged when it is time since I am in CA.

I had stock manifolds, cats and muffler delete, ran a best of 12.89
I got a killer deal on some brand new BBK stailess shorties, bought them and they sat in the garage for a year. Then I bought Solo high flow cats from here (another good deal) still sat in garage.... Then I saw a Craigslist add for MBRP 3" cat back....bought that.... I installed it all this spring... With all that installed I ran a best of 13.2 at New England Dragway SLower and doesn't even sound as good.... saving for LT and a tune from Ted....

But let's be honest, the Headers didn't make a .3 second difference It would take a good 50+ WHP or tires to do something like that.
And you did open the exhaust with shorties and an MBRP, so you probably were making a tad more HP than with the stock manifolds. So your story IMHO isn't relevant/circumstancial. That said, LT and a tune is the way to go . |

The way I read that was the car was slower with the added parts, not faster. Was also not on an LSA. N/A really needs a tune with exhaust improvements which is why he ran a bit slower.
