Agree. That is like putting ZL1 front bumper or a 1LE splitter on an SS which I think is a nice mod.

I had a weird car for a little bit, a 1989 volvo 740 (why, right? I like oddball stuff sometimes) - but it had a mustang 5.0 with cam + trans swap. People always looked 2 or 3 times at this ugly black volvo with loud v8 lumpy rumble lol. Some of the brick drivers out there have swapped LS1 motors in, + twin turbo into a Volvo wagon. Strange and hilarious.

I think it was Paul Newman that originally took a volvo and swapped in a V8 for the hell of it. total sleeper, anonymous car nobody will GAF about.

My car has the hood spears with LS on them because it is a 1LS. Someone asked me if it had an LS engine and I said no it's a V6. Even though it is an honest badge, I think some people would find it misleading

Yup, just don't leave the ZL1 grill badge on it, lol

In 1966 there was no factory Pontiac with a 400. You had a Tempest (predecessor to the GTO) 389 or a very rare Catalina with a never documented factory bored and stroked 401. Yes, I had one of those. Almost died in it. It was a cheater for NASCAR.

I saw Camaro LS with steel wheels sporting a black (and crooked) SS badge at the movies on Sunday. To each his own I guess, but I wouldn't do it. However, I think modding your car with say a ZL1 bumper or SS wheels, is no big deal. You may just like the look and aren't necessarily trying to fool someone.

Funny, just saw this on autotrader. It was originally advertised as a "2LT SS" but seems to have changed today, someone complained I guess.
http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Chevrolet...rup=117_45_130
It really has it all, SS badges, many autobot symbols, 426HPLS3 stickers inside and out, cheesy 'cowl induction' engine cover, big exhaust tips, mustang bullit style wheels.
Sigh.
Its a nice V6 with the black/orange/orange color scheme that I like, dealer should just peel off the crap.

Man, even has the Transformers badge on the steering wheel!

Shame, looks to be a nice clean ride. I feel bad for the car, that mess isn't it's fault. There must be 150 HP worth of badges on that thing!

The have their time and place... I put an extra SS badge I had lying around on my 10 year old beater truck. Makes people laugh. If you're really trying to pass off a lesser model car as a premium model car, then you're just a poser. Just my 2 cents.

Haha. I've done the same thing. I put a VTEC badge in my Honda lawnmower, which btw, is a front wheel drive mower.

I put SS badges on a 94 1 ton dually. It was dropped 6 to 8 inches, shaved everything, 7" touch screen. Had a built 454. Once in a while some non car guy would ask if it was a real SS. Like GM ever made a 1 ton dually SS. The emblems looked great. Truck was flat black and red. Looked sick.

I added this logo on for fun. BTW the 2013 Hot Wheels trim level was over the top, especially the seats. I do love the color tho.
