What was your first computer?
I was chatting with a buddy on AOL and we were talking about our first computers and how lame they are compared to our current machines. The first one I got was a Acer I got at a swap meet. It was running Windows 3.1 and had no modem, we had a 14.4k one put in (this was early to mid 90s). it could not surf the web as the web was not really what it is now. I gave it to a friend of mine who used it for his screenwriting project. our first "REAL" computer was a newer Acer Aspire desktop. with a whopping 166MHz processor (later upgraded to a 200MHz with MMX 'remember that ?', and 16mb of memory (upgraded to 32mb). It only had a CDROM a 33.6 modem (upgraded to a true 56k one). It was a decent machine it had windows 95 but we upgraded to 98 later on. the funny thing is we got it on black friday with a 14" monitor and a cheapy lexmark printer that only had one ink cart slot (you had to swap from black ink to color ink if you planed on printing in color ). for a super deal of 999.99 !. compared to my current custom built tower with dual core 3.4ghz processor, 4 gigs of memory and a 500 gig HD with DVD burner that i got for less than 300 bucks in parts and labor that old Acer was like a big calculator by comparison. so, what was your first PC (or mac, but we won't hold that against you )?

Funny thing is, you'll probably laughing your ass off at what you have now, 10 years from now.

Commodore Pet back in 1978. Followed that with a Commodore Vic-20, then a couple of Commodore 64's, an Amiga and finally went over to the dark side (PC's) in 1996.

Still have a working Tandy 200 laptop [some of the roms on it Bill Gates wrote himself] with a portable D-cell printer and a CB packet controller used to send work orders back and fourth to trucks on the job site via CB radio.
