How far is that taken from Mt Rainer? Know it's in your backyard but that is "really" in your backard With envy.

Beautiful saturday in Flagstaff... spring is sprung?

Great pics of hot rods and mountains... envy, there's a bird thread in off-topics, I bet more than a few folks would enjoy some older plane photos

Good Morning Sky Man. Weather is supposed to be decent in the mid 70's both today and tomorrow, with breezes up to 15 mph tomorrow. Definitely great weather fo those up at the track.

Today is car day for me!! I'm heading out to get my MRTs installed at 9 wooohooo , then an oil change and a good hand washing!! Once that's done I hope to find a good spot to get some glamour shots in the sunshine!

Glad everybody liked the picture!
We are about 6 miles from the corner of the Mt. Rainer National Park boundry. About 25 miles from the summit. Although I'm basing that on Google, I'm not sure where my old sectionals and plotter are! There's only two towns between here and the mountain, and they are former boom towns that only have a small population remaining. (Mining & logging) I'm only half joking about it being in my back yard. Parts of it are in my back yard- by aerial delivery. My wife unearthed two large (100+ lbs) volcanic boulders while trying to plant bushes in our yard. And as I was telling Linda earlier this week, I had septic issues last year and had to dig a huge hole with vertical sides. Clearly visible in the soil were bright white layers of pumice marking ancient eruptions.

It changes color rapidly as soon as it's exposed to air. The most recent activity is around 4" down. The next one is at about 1'2" (at the top of the dark layer). In the big picture you can see all the pumice sliding down the side on the left that is turning white in the sun.

Okay, I'll see if I can steal the scanner away from my son. What's your favorite plane?

envy, my fav changes on a daily basis... when I was a kid it was the Bell X variants, then the sr71, then just about any wwII bird, but the P38 has always interested me with it's design.

Oh, and the Beech's, especially the staggerwing, and any DC cargo plane.... for a start LOL
