I think it's a bit contrived to blame Ford for the plethora of tuner models, exactly what are they supposed to do to curtail that? (hint, they can't do anything)
Ford produced models are the...... V6 GT Boss 302 GT500 You can get different packages on all of those, but those are just that...packages. I just can't bring myself to call four basic models overkill. |

I think the bigger question is why not. They all sell very well so why not do this. I don't see any problem with having a lot of tuner type models in addition to any factory models ..

As long as each model is ordered as a "per order" basis and the market isnt flooded with them, why not? Variety is good as long as the market isnt flooded with them
Hell Chevrolet makes 6 different models of the Corvette! And within that at least 11 or 12 different trims. The Camaro will have 5 different models too So if the Mustang has a crazy amount of models..the Corvette is just plain stupid. |

The more the merrier, I suppose. I was simply pointing out that there are A TON of different versions of the Mustang over the past decade.

And they all have done fairly well and helped other models. For instance..the intake and tune from the 2008/9 Mustang GT Bullitt was added to the 2010 GT, which helped it raise from 300 to 315 HP. |
