Haha yes but I can ride with OR without spinners on the 22's. Its a 5 min change over depending on how I feel! LOL! With the spinners on there IS indeed a difference in performance, withour, you would be pushed to notice the difference.

This can go both ways guys. Big chrome 22s are much heavier and take more power to get rolling and bigger brakes to stop. On the other hand, a 22" racing wheel can be lighter then the 15-18" STEEL wheels alot of you are used to and enhance performance. As for tires, just because its a low profile doesnt mean it cant grip. Just because you old timers are stuck on 15" wheels with "slicky thomsons" doesnt mean there arent better options out there. Just take a look at the Le Mans and other race cars that are made to handle. They dont use the rims and tires for looks! Me personaly, ide take 22s any day. Its not like im tryin for a world champ race car.

Yup, and the multiple champion GT1 C6.R runs 18s all around, and the multiple champion LMP1 Audi R10 TDI runs 19s all around.

Who the hell said anything about steel 15s? I was talking about forged 18s or 19s. And those wheel/tire setups WILL, hands down, have more absolute grip laterally and longitudinally than the same wheel/tire/width 22.

it all depends on the weight of the rims. there are alot of companies that make ver light large wheels. they can in some cases, be lighter than the stock rims. therfore losing weight in the wheels makes up for the size.

there would definately be a performance difference in those wheels compared to the stock ones. i had a set like that on my tahoe and they were a HEEEAAAVVVYY wheel. that is not the kind of big rims you should put on a muscle car. if your gonna go big and still want performance HRE is the only way to go. very very light wheels.

With the utmost respect for you, My Magnum has about 360Hp now, I dont notice any difference with the 18" stock and the 22"s. Only when I add the spinners do I feel any difference, but then the car becomes a show piece not a racer!

every one is trying to nicely tell you dont put some horrible ass big chrome rims on a Camaro. they dont look good on any thing and if ever saw them on the Camaro i would be sad.

wheels and tires can make or break a car. more chrome is not allways better. stick with what works learn from the past. a classic 5 spoke looks good on just about any car. and you jump up to 22-24" your going to be in to a 35-30 series tire and rubber bands dont look right.

this is just my opinion and you should listen to it cause i love my opinion

i understand its just for looks, im just saying those are heay wheels. and where you notice it the most is not in acceleration, but braking.

its not that they will look bad being bigger wheels, it just that it has to be the right style wheel. ive seen 22 and 24 on challangers(i thik someone posted it on here somewhere) and it fits the car perfect. why? because it has alot of fender gap to be filled. alot of other cars look stupid with bigger wheels because they dont fit under the fenders. the camaro will look good in 22's and 24's IF you have the right wheel for it. is it going to be practical for EVERYONE? no. but its going to look damn good and surely fit the cars right. not everyone is into the stop and go drag racing anymore. im not. i like cruising and doing a little street racing. i have to find my wheels that will be perfect for what i intend on doing.

This is a Camaro we're talking about.

22" are way too big for a Camaro. The best size for looks and all around performance would most likely be 19 or so." I wouldn't want to go any bigger than 20".

And as mentioned. The 18'' with some drag tires will probably work best at the drag strip.

uuuhhhh did you forget that the concept had 21's and 22's on it????

ive actually found 22" wheels that probably weight lighter than the stock 20's that come on the car.

The concept is the car that started this drool carnival over the Camaro. It had big rims.

To both sides of this argument, we need to agree that cosmetics are indisputable. If someone wants big rims or small rims for appearance, it is impossible to argue on the right side. If we continue down this path, we're going to end up with a showdown between the Cryps, the Bloods, and the cowboys, and it will get weird and bloody.

Since no one is buying this car from the purely performance reasons—yes, its fast, but it looks good, too—we should be open-minded to different approaches to appearance enhancement.
