Could you pm me or direct me to a link that shows pricing for your dual valve kit with braided hoses and fittings.

Great Job! Like a few other people before me, I am very interested in your mounting location and process for the mount.

Are there any functional advantages of the AN fitting/braided line set up or is it mostly just for looks?

Catch can

Where exactly do the hoses hook up to on the other side and please post a picture of the bracket location? This looks awesome! I'm also going to be contacting Lube for some painting of the engine cover and cross brace. Let me know if you come up with any options for the sc hoses?

I'm really interested in the mods that you have done to your car! Take a look at my mods at [2013 ZL1 CRT vert delivered (Overpar73)], I will doing my JDP Halo mod in the next couple of weeks.

Hey guys, sorry for taking so long to get back to everyone.

Here are some additional pics that I hope will answer some of the questions.

The first two pics shows the turnbuckle/spacer after tapping both ends with 10mmx1.50 and installing the stud and hex bolt.

The third & fourth pics are close-ups of the spacer mounting point. If you look closely, you can see a zinc plated split lock washer between the spacer and the face of the accessory belt tensioner....lower bolt hole. I also used some blue loctite when assembling everything.

I will confess, I was a little skeptical that this set-up would be stable enough to keep the can from wanting to rotate counter-clockwise/downward due to engine vibration but I have been pleasantly surprised how secure it really is with just one bolt attaching the can/bracket to the spacer. I think the firmness of the braided hoses & the way the hoses are routed seem to add some additional stability to the top of the can which can only help to keep it from moving.

I have put a couple hundred miles on the car since installing the catch-can and can say without a doubt, it has not moved at all.

Where did you get the turnbuckle and where do the hoses connect to the engine?

You can find the turnbuckle at your local hardware or home improvement store.

As for the hose connection points, your best bet would be to check the website of the catch-can vendor you decide to go with, as they will have detailed instructions & illustrations.

My service mgr at the dealer says it will not. His rational is that it does not change the actual function of any system or tune of the engine.

OP,
I commend you on your ingenuity and resourcefulness to try and come up with a way to mount a catch can on a ZL1 so is doesn't look like $hit.

My friend who has one has been looking for a while to make it work as a clean install as well.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade here but you want to consider this:

That turnbuckle in NO way going to be strong enough long term to deal with the mounting stresses.

You are enabling a double shear load on the end that connects to the provided catch can bracket as the cantilever is just too far.

The torsional vibrations will also cause that hardware turnbuckle to fail and if that gets snagged up in the belts and pulley's,well you know the rest.

It may look and appear solid but I wouldn't trust it a second.

There was an issue a while back where the GM ground wire stud was failing from guys mounting the can there as well.

Your idea is sound but needs to be made of a stronger material i/e 6061.

Just trying to help.

May consider 316ss or a286 for your install with maybe some red 271 loc tite, guarantee not to fail if you up to ss. Just a thought,,,,,,,
