Ummmmm, seriously? Did someone really think he meant that the 5th Gen Camaro was going to be released with a big block V8?

wow.

To expect a big block is just silly. But 426 Hp in 09 was a big number. How many cars had anywhere near that in 09? I can't think of many and all cost significantly more than the Camaro did.

6.2L isn't a small V8 and at the time was quite large by competition comparison. Most were 4.6 (5.0 in 2011), 5.7 and 6.1 in that era. Viper had the 8.4, but that's a V10

Did you know that the W Block, a big block engine, from the late 50s had a 5.7L? The Mark IV Big Block had a 6.0L and 6.5L version as well.

Big Block is dead and is no longer needed with the advances in computer controlled engines and materials.

I paid $44K for mine, which is pretty reasonable for the level of performance, design, and fit & finish of this car. Not sure what you expect to pay for a performance car of this level in 2016?

You're offering conditions on a statement that was not. If Fbodfather had said "You'll be pleasantly surprised with the price of this car given the performance it has"...then it would have been less of a incredulous statement. However, "You'll be pleasantly surprised" was very vague and left open to interpretation, and it kind of bit people.

I'm going to agree with the 7:29 guess. I bet the gen 6 z/28 is in the 7:25 or less range.

Then, frankly...people need to stop interpreting statements so literally and getting bent out of shape when their own personal expectations were not met.

The drive for political correctness, and scripted statements is fueled by the persistence of the thin-skinned and assumers of the world.

I've paid a lot of money for things that many would consider foolish. If they were experts their opinion would matter to me but they're not and it doesn't. Gimme the car already!

We are talking about a 2017 model year. It is May of 2016! We will not see this car until October, possibly December. You will be able to order the car before you can buy it. Pricing will be available when you can order it. Until then it is all hype and speculation. People need to take it as such and simply calm down.
