Well I for one am not buying a camaro for its interior. Let the guy who believes in Auto blog, buy his mustang. He can sniff my exhaust fumes and rubber as I leave him at the traffic light.

From all of the pictures I have seen of the Camaro's interior, I can't see how it won't feel top notch. You can tell by the thickness of the seats, the consistency of the materials throughout, and the precision of the door gaps.
Its one opinion that goes against all of the other information we have seen and opinions we have heard.

I refuse to believe this. The Camaro blows the doors off the Mustang.

I sat in the Mustang at the L.A. Auto Show and was NOT impressed. It looked 'nice', but who the heck wants their muscle car to have a 'nice' interior? It just looks absolutely uninspired. And the quality of the materials was nothing to write home about... especially on the doors [HARD HARD plastic]. Everyone web/print magazine that's written about the Camaro's interior agree it gets style points over the Mustang's and Challenger's so I can't see GM dropping the ball by filling it with crap textures The materials in the Malibu are heads/shoulders/nipples above the Mustang's so I just can't imagine the Camaro's being anything less than what the Mustang offers.

Awesome animation. Like the Mustang never saw it coming.

Sorry, but brushed aluminum accents aren't enough. Just because Auto Blog says the Mustang's interior is the bee's knees doesn't make it so. As stated, those who sat in a Camaro have said the interior is top-notch. I'd wait to pass judgement until I sat in both. Of course, I'd wait and pass judgement until I sat in both if I EVER entertained the thought of owning a Mustang. Since Hell hasn't reached an ambient temperature of 32 degrees farenheit (0 degrees celcius), I still haven't entertained that thought.
Relax kids, it will be worth your buckos to get a Camaro. I'm selling everything but my first-born but I'll have mine. It's still a 2SS/RS for me. Get those lines going!!!!!

Well if they said 2008 mustang I would be a bit worried as it's not a great interior IMO, but I haven't sat in the updated 2010 yet. Ford can put together a fairly nice interior when they really try and that was supposed to be the primary focus of their update. Of course there's the possibility of the writer simply being easily impressed by shinies like extra chrome or nav. Time will tell the tale when they're both on the sales lots though.

This...
vs... My pick... camaro. I hate the center stereo/HVAC area of the mustang. The completely flat with buttons popping out annoys me. |

Just noticed something about the Ford....Look at those speakers on the doors of the Mustang!!!! Those would get kicked right off within the first 2 years I had it, without a doubt. Ouch! That's got to be at least 1.5" - 2" of protrusion.
And I think some of you may be right in your theory for why the blogger thought the Mustang is better...it's just more shiny inside. It still looks bland and utilitarian to me. Again -- I loved the Camaro's inside when I sat in the IVER at Indy. I don't think anyone has anything to be worried about. |
