I've left my plugged I and didn't start my car for two days and it started right up. I've heard of you go several days that it can run your battery down. If you are going to park car for extended time, just unplug it. It works great. I got it on sale Black Friday from auto anything.com for $149. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I used the Range device and it works great
Only issue I had was forgetting it plugged, drained the battery overnight |

can we turn afm on/off? or delete it??
OP of course you do whatever you like, but it would make sense to simply tune the AFM to kick in when you want it, if at all.
It can be anything from very discreet and quiet in certain gears / conditions or left stock likely loud and pervasive. BTW those who tell you the new Delphi deac lifters are dodgy, are not comparing LS lifter failure across the board. Perpetuating a fault with Eton lifters rectified MY11. I had over 130k miles on my last AFM lifters and cam, now get 610 HP and 27 MPG with AFM and VVT. NPP bimodal cans effectively take care of the Luftwaffe out the back.

I bought a Range Device, after about a week my car started to freak out so I returned it.
I don't think that it did anything anyway. I'll probably get the tune eventually.

your exhaust that's causing your drone. Like I said mine is completely stock except for the Solos. And no, I never look at someones signature, only what's posted. I think the only way to eliminate your drone is to go back to stock exhaust except for your solos.

I got the Hyper Tech 2.0 this week, installed easily Premium Tune, and disabled AFM. My car is totally a new car. I now love my new car, thanks to Hyper Tech. No more sluggish responses ,when cutting to four mode. Now it stays in V8 mode all the time. It's a pleasure to drive now. Thanks Gobby

No, drone is the low, bass heavy resonating sound waves from the exhaust. The grotesque ricer fart can sound he's referring to is the 4 cylinder mode, specifically. It sounds horrible. Only way to get rid of the AFM sound is to tune it out, that Range thing, or stay stock.
Also, reading those posts from 2008... People were actually defending AFM lol. |

I'm glad I found this. I got my SS about three weeks ago, and I was wondering why the exhaust note changed noticeably at times. It's usually when I'm doing around 35 to 40 steady under low power. I thought there were flaps moving in the exhaust, but I have Corsas on it so that didn't seem to make sense. I had no idea it was the AFM until now. Makes sense now. It's going back and forth from 4 to 8. It's definitely noticeable with the Corsa mufflers amplifying the sound.
