On my trip up from Portland, was able to accomplish 28.9mpg, though I think I could have done better if the traffic wasn't as inconsistent. Had to get on it a few times and I kept losing momentum, having to get it back.
Bone stock, about 3200 miles on it so far. This weekend, though, I get my CAI and catback installed, so it will be interesting to note how much, if at all, the numbers change.

I have driven my car fairly steady since I got it in January. Since then I have charted 13,500 miles. My lifetime average is 23.5. However recently I have been charting 25-27 for my normal drive. I spend about 85% of my miles on the highway and the rest around the city. Most of the towns here have 35 mph speeds posted and if I am there and don't get caught at the lights I can get 27 in the city (flat roads). If I do get caught at the lights it is closer to 22. Thus far I have seen 31.5 for my high and 18.9 for my low. The 31.5 I got while going 60 back and forth to town and the 18.9 I got cause I had just put my exhaust on. (The first week with new exhaust will really kill the averages.)

I am guessing you navigate a lot of stop lights with the a/c on. I know around town with a/c on I am in the teens, but once I get on highway my average goes up. It just depends on your overall highway to city percentage. When I stomp on it out of the gas station I am getting around 8mpg. LOL

Im seeing 36 mpg at 55 in 6th with windows up and A/C off, 34 mpg with A/C on or windows down. The majority of my drive to work is on that road, so my overall average (with the weekend drive-it-like-a-camaro mpg factored in) is 24 mpg.

I average 18 which is up from about 16 post intake, LT/HFcats, and CB exhaust. Lot's of hills where I live and I don't baby my baby. I could do better if I drove like grandma but If I wanted to do that then I'd turn in my mancard and drive a Prius.
I've done a few extended trips and if I keep her at 65 or below then she will hit 30+ MPG but I generally do the 10 over rule so I get about 26 MPG at 75. I run 87 octane. MO blends a bit of ethanol into their fuels too.

That's my experience as well. I use my 42 mile drive to work as my test route for MPG filling up at the same gas station and trying to maintain the same speed. When I do my max-MPG runs, my average speed on the DIC is at 64 +/- 1. A couple weeks ago, I got the best MPG that I have seen at 33.1. When I drive with traffic (72-74), it's usually 26.something.

1RS 6 speed manual with just over 1300 miles on it. 20 inch wheels with 245 & 275 tires.
Follow up to my post on page 27 of this thread. I did some playing around today. Reset the DIC fuel economy page while driving and got some interesting numbers. These were on a level road, speed as constant as I could. 35 MPH in 5th gear averaged 36 to 38mpg - vs about 25 mpg in 4th. 45 MPH in 6th gear averaged 41 to 43 mpg - vs about 30 mpg in 5th. The higher gear numbers are what I expect to get from a direct injection engine. Both of these are running the engine at 1300 RPM, which is way into lugging territory. I wouldn't do it for any length of time without an oil pressure gauge and something like a knock warning light. The car will pick up knock way before you can hear it. Closed throttle in 5th or 6th at these speeds shows 99.9 mpg. In 1st through 4th the highest I've ever seen in the DIC is 50 mpg, even with coasting down hill with a closed throttle for over a minute. This leads me to believe that the injectors are turned off with a closed throttle in 5th or 6th, at least at low RPM. All of this makes me very curious to see a fuel schedule for the ECU. Knowing it would help with maximizing mileage when I can. I know, I know, it's not an economy car. But, the engineer in me wants to know how it works so I can make it work better. And, the cheapskate in me wants to save fuel when I can. Although he's generally way in the back of my mind when I push the go fast pedal. I plan to install a Vararam CAI and header & performance exhaust & mufflers in a few months. (Springs, sway bars & bushings are first) We'll see what that does. Anybody notice improved highway mileage with lowering springs? This usually is a measurable drag reduction. I remember when the 3rd gen Camaro came out GM said lowering it 1 inch was good for a 1 mpg highway improvement for the V6 cars. |

Computer says I'm getting 16 mpg 80% city. 2LT RS Auto. I'm pretty easy on it too. Stock car but still disappointed by this. Looking at upgraded cai, exhaust. Something's gotta give. running 87. Great car otherwise

MPG
I just returned home to Florida from an 18 state, 4 province, 6600 mile, 20 day road trip in my 2011 LS 6 spd manual Camaro.
I took my time and for the most part kept the RPM's under 2000 on the highways. The 6600 miles included driving around in downtown DC, Philadelphia, New York and Cleveland plus driving a lot of back roads just enjoying the drive. I was able to achieve 30.2 MPG for the entire trip and was very pleased. My Camaro is completely stock and the only addition is a K&N air filter.

I am finally past the break-in period and I am now getting 19.5 MPG in the City.
