Whenever I have kids I'm gonna make them buy their own car. My kids will learn the value of the dollar, and will not be snooty to other kids who are driving a 2 thousand dollar cars, cause I drove a cheap car in high school. I'd be jealous if I was a kid at that school. Well people are jealous of me now and I paid for my own car, oh well.

When i have kids i will make my kid earn every penny for a brand new car and he totals it. it's his problem. He will learn alot about life

Well im not paying for mine... but my dad told me if i get a full ride to college he would get me a new car (With about a 35k limit) and.... I got a full ride! Honestly, do you consider this spoiled or earned? I have been driving a crappy 90's jeep cherokee.

After continuing to read I think that everyone that thinks he is going to wreck it is an idiot you mine as well be a raciest. I mean when I was 16 I would drive my dads Vette around and holy crap I am still here.

congrats man!...i call that earned...you were going to recieve 30,000 and up somehow...whether it was for your college

although to be honest...i wouldn't put that money in a car...i would put that money in a nice little portfolio....interest rates are going up and that 30,000 could become 50,000 once you get out of college and you can start a business with that

your going to get out of college debt free bro...or you can get out without money but with a cool car?? tough choice honestly since those years are going to be great with the car but your still only going to be 21 with 30 to 50 thousand in the bank...

most of these deaths happen because they are speeding...they should make it mandatory that kids just starting to drive look at photos of accidents to deter them from this behavior...

So... what are the statistics on 16 year olds with 400hp cars? Some guy who can barely speak English presenting an anecdote doesn't mean most 16 year olds aren't reckless.

Well, its not like he is offering to give me 30k. He said he will get me a car (And he will pay monthly for it) and my old car would go to my sister. I need a new car for college anyways, and even if i convinced him to give me money instead... it would probably be 4 years before he would get me the full 30k. Also, im going pre-med, so im not planning on starting a business.

Or they could have Ds and Cs and just have it handed to them Without any deals with there parents

oh ok..yeah thats a different story...since instead of getting 30,000 upfront you'd be getting like 800 bucks a month...which you would probably have a tough time trying to save...sine 800 dollars can go quickly in a month...i thought maybe he started a college fund way back or something
