IMVHO, this car has bar-none, the BEST sounding exhaust system of them all. The only thing I think could make it better is some headers to add a little volume and lope. But DANG!!! It's an intimidating sound, the ZL1 makes.
^THIS

OMG.... Even on my crappy laptop speakers that sounded AMAZING... can't imagine how awesome it sounded in person

The '10 and later GT500's, while not as bad, suffer from the same fate.

So to see how well behaved the ZL1 axle (or IRS in this case) can be is impressive to say the least. Nice to see that the GM engineers were allowed to minimize the deflection in the system so that windup doesn't occur - at least to the eye, anyway. On the other hand, the Ford vehicle dynamics group failed miserably at mitigating this issue. It'll be interesting to see how the '13 fares in this regard.

It's in the second post, I think....

Notice the massively-different diameter half-shafts out back...that is what accomplishes most of the task of eliminating wheel-hop. If I remember right - the engineers said it's a newer technique they've written several technical papers on and patented the concept.

Used on the ZR1, and CTS-V, as well as the SS Camaro to a lesser extent - really cool stuff!

If Chevy wants to burn up the tires for us to enjoy, I am fine with it. It is one less time I have to do it. You know I will have to try it in mine at least once. If you can't afford to replace the tires you shouldn't buy this car. The composition of the rubber will start to change causing them to get hard over time. You can't make them last forever. They might as well be worn out before then.

Wow. That shot had me wondering what the two diameters are and what is each shaft rated to. I'd assume the weak link to be the shaft on the driver side...
