Don't Sleep on My V6
|
Ok finally read through the thread! 12.1 on is definitely a hero run, but I also don't doubt that these cars can do it. The difference and it's major is the tuning, I can bet that if IPF would tune Gretchen or myself we would be getting more than what we have now. The SC kits are almost at the same HP as me running 6psi's. TQ will not be close, but TQ wins races (some say HP). These aren't light weight honda's so we need the torque to get off the line fast, BUT we need to be able to hook. A 12.9 is more in the nature of these V6's with a SC from what I been seeing since the SC kits hit the streets. Won't be surprised if early to mid next year someone hit's 12.0 consistently. I'll get to the track one day lol, but I had my car built for different reasons than running 1/4 miles like I've said before. Let's just say people know my name and car lmao!! But nice run, and everyone is making great progress with their builds.
NOW WHERE IS THIS DAMN N/A CAMMED V6 ALREADY!!

PQ drives around on square wheels which slows him down a tad.

The only good thing about this thread is the 12 second slip. I find that impressive, be it RX or IPF. It is unfortunate that others can't enjoy the fact it happened. I really find some of the posts with in this thread garbage. I truly hope he can do it again (or anyone else). Why? because it is a step in the correct direction.
What I want to see is a road race. 1G in a Corner = . In advance Congrats to anyone surpassing 13 second mile with either product |

The reason why I think there is so much doubt, to make that kind of run he would have to be making serious power. Which is completely doable, however on 7 psi from a centri supercharger on these cars seems a little far fetched when looking at what EVERYONE else is doing. And then take into consideration the DA that was over 1500. And then to top it off you have PQ running an SS with a maggie making just over 7 psi of boost and he's only running .1 faster, with what I assume would be a lot more tq. Finally he said the other car was an SS that had exhaust done, but it only ran a 13.8? Surely you can see why I'm skeptical. I would love nothing more than to see ANY V6 5th gen run these kind of times (w/o spray). IMO anything under 13 is very impressive. But in this scnario it makes a lot more sense that it ran that 13.8 than the 12.1

We saw an original ipf car run 13 flat with the 18" steelies. These cars should be capable of running mid 12s with a decent setup....and low 12s with drag racing suspension setup and DRs on 18 inch rims. Guys an NA v6 mustang ran a12.9. You are selling yourself short if you are only hoping to achieve a high 12.
Baylor I hope your results improve immensely after this latest trip to RX because so far if I were you I'd be very unhappy

I think when ppl see the dyno results, it'll make sense. I remember Sycraft mentioning after the dyno runs that ppl were going to be surprised or something to that effect.
12.1 E.T. 121mph trap is amazing for a 2.1 60'. The magazine article comes out soon so just sit tight.
