Hmm. As for above poster, I can believe they are developing a dual-clutch, but I'll believe the successful application in an affordable car when I see it. |

Ford looks like they are moving in the right direction...
however, somehow i doubt ford is going keep the weight/price down on this one. Adv. Camaro.

Hmm. 400 hp and 23 mpg. The Camaro will already do that, without DI or OHC. We should be concerned because the weight of the Mustang won't go up too much so they will esentially equal our power to weight. So then it comes down to powerband, gearing, and driver.
However, the GM could let the LS3 breath a bit better to boost its output if they so choose. And of course, there is the the upcoming Gen V engines but they aren't due for a few years and GM doesn't have the cash to push the program ahead faster. 2010-2011 should shape up to be a very close match between the Mustang and Camaro.

That's one of the advantages to selling everything but your soul.
Still, I agree. And I'm glad Ford can do these things (dct Fiesta, etc). Truly I am. They can't creep past GM in terms of sales, etc...but they can certainly move up in the automotive world -- which is 100% good news. |

Why are you so skeptical? Go google pictures of 5.0's and see if any of them have the same intake manifold, etc. Love the Camaro, but don't go into denial if Ford actually comes out with a new engine.

I'm skeptical because we have a thread every few weeks about the monumental changes the Mustang will have....which usually end in "nevermind, it was just a rumor". I don't treat Camaro rumors any differently. Unless there's real proof it's just people rapping their jaws.

Yes, for the record, I also agree that the ecoboost will be in the Mustang around 2011...however I seriously doubt the claims that it will be the next 2JZ.
