But what IS the fix is the question. If it involves taking the dash apart they can forget it lol.

I'll post a link to the pertinent thread. Personally I'm a bit shocked at the presumed cause and remedy for this problem. I would say go for this only if you consider your fogging "extreme."

Almost like the defrost door is not closing off all the way when the AC is set to "head" and in recirc.. (Max)..

Experimenting with the defrost and temp settings, the ducts seem to change over properly and so does the temp/blend doors...however just a small enough amount bleeding through the defrost duct to fog the windshield..

Pretty annoying to have to turn the wipers on to clear the fog on a sunny day...it's done this every day that I've had it..(1 week).

Just curious if this is common or mine has an issue.. I'd hate to have the dealer tearing into the dash.
Yeh...I noticed the same with my car too.

I have had this same problem in the gen5s also, What works for me is apply some air to the front vents, I really wish GM would fix this problem,

Thanks. And yeah I'll skip it. Mine isn't worth all that.

I was driving yesterday and had to place a microfiber towel over the defrost vent to stop the fogging. I noticed when I set the venting to my feet the microfiber would balloon/ lift up alot more then when it was set to the dash vents. Id think with it set to your feet the fogging will be worse.

My work around is to set my thermistat/temp cntrol to 71-73 deg. Still keeps it cool but no fog.

Yep yep. Had it on my 2016 and again on my 2017 2SS. After about 30 minutes of driving, in the morning, things acclimate and the fogging goes away. Doesn't happen in the evening after work.

I think the repair involves removing the windshield to execute.
