Post Detroit Auto Makers Boost Initial Quality Scores

http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/stock-mar...quality-scores

Quote:
DETROIT -(Dow Jones)- The Detroit auto makers managed to increase their new- vehicle quality scores by an average of 10% this year despite being rocked by bankruptcies and a worldwide economic recession.

Too late for GM/Chrysler, but hopefully they will stick with it in the future...

Buick is so weird! In 2006 they topped the charts. In 2007 they fell to 6th from the top...2008 brought them a Lexus-beating score, and this year they fell again! What the heck?

Also...Chevy, Ford, and Toyota are in a dead-heat!

Chevy will drop below Land Rover when people start complaining that the ABL bulbs in their Camaro dashboards are defective.

Buick topped lexus in something like an overall quality score...this study is initial quality.

Yes, it's confusing...

I believe that was dependability, not initial quality. Initial quality is the number of problems you have in the first few months of getting the car.

yes and no. They have twice as many problems as the best brand in the industry, which isn't that much considering the super high percieved quality of Lexus.
