There's no reason to be ashamed that that car is an aftermarket do-up. It's pretty damn neat, actually! I'm surprised the dealership felt the need to misrepresent the vehicle. :(

i don't care about collectability......

any price for a Z over 50-52k. Is not a good deal..

the Gt500 for 2011 ( looks aside ) is a better performer....both in acceleration and handling than a a Grand sport Vette\

Gm better get on the ball. With the New 5.0 smashing records.....( ie the M3 spectacle)

its apparent that GM has to do better and cheaper than the Ford guys

even if they have to operate at a loss for the first few units( ok break even)

Sorry. the Gt500 and the 5.0 represent the very best of American pony cars to date.

If this hurts SS owners.....do the above mods to your SS and you have no worries.

Oh add.....front 6 pot brembos and more aggressive pads.

Now for looks the SS camaro is heads above. but to stang loyalists the
mustang is not unattractive. We are just used to it.

Please do not flame me......i did almost all those mods except the coilovers and 6 pot fronts
and i can say my SS will easily handle the Gt500...both in autocross....and of course straight line)

though it cost about 10 k for the engine package and another 1750 for suspensional part( being frugal and just the very necessary ones)

Springs instead of coilovers....i'm quite pleased with the outcome.
Put the same tires on the 2011 GT500 and the GS Vette, and the GT500 loses again. Those Goodyear G2 tires are magic and I can't wait to try 'em.

Exactly. The GS Vette is an awesome machine (still just the base LS3 power = 436, with better brakes, wider wheels/tires, and zr1 suspension) that can hang with and usually beat cars with 130+ more HP. All things being equal, especially tires, the Vette will continue to kick the GT500's ass.

On another note, any Camaro over $45K is too much in my opinion. Pound for pound, mod for mod, they will never be able to perform as well as a Vette (Z06, GS, etc. - anything but the base model Vette). However, if GM prices this new Z28 at or under (preferably) the GT500 and GS Vette price point, I will strongly consider one in a couple of years.

$90,000 thats outrageous. Doesn't look like $50,000 worth of aftermarket stuff.

If I had an extra $90,000 ,I would give it to them to stop making that hideous front end.
