I just bought a 2011 2ss. It has remote start on the key but doesnt work. how much would it cost if i took it to the dealer and had it activated in the ecu. if anyone knows

Just making sure you're doing it right, are you locking the car before holding the start button? If you are, I'd have it looked at, if not, it will not start until you're doors are locked

About 125 bucks. I took mine in for an activation on the steering wheel radio controls and it was 125.00, so your would probably be close or if not cheaper, depends on your dealer shop rate.

I would think that would be covered under your bumper to bumper warranty... Wouldn't it?

another?? the dealer sold it to me as a 1ss but it has the extras of the 2ss. like the heated leather seats. hud sunroof lighted doors steering wheel controls all that. how do i tell for sure if its 2ss or 1ss

is the ss on back and front red or white
leather is a 2ss but someone may have put them in it . is the ss letters are red its ss2 white is ss1

4 gauge cluster pack and leather seats are the biggest tell, although these can be put in afterwords and the 2SS has a standard 9 speaker Boston acoustic sound system, this is an upgraded option for the 1SS and i believe the 1SS does not have the sound system steering wheel controls where as the 2SS does

If the SS emblems are red that means the car has the RS package equipped so you will also have HID headlamps, this wont tell you if its a 2SS or 1SS.

Remote start ca be disabled.

Go into ther set-up menu and see if it is turned off.

FWIW, the first thing I did when I got my 2SS was to turn OFF the remote start.

Who wants to "butt start" their car?

To remote start you have to first hit the Lock button then press and hold the remote start button, if you can do this with your ass???

Check the 5th digit on your VIN...

S = 1SS manual
T = 2SS manual
J = 1SS automatic
K = 2SS automatic
