Any info on the 2012

I recently bought a 2012 2ss/rs inferno orange metallic exterior, black and orange interior, 6speed, high wing spoiler, power moonroof, black stripe package, and polished rims. It is still being built the wait is killing me. The order was put in on jan 29,2012. I been at code 3000 since jan 31, 2012. The question is I've been readin about all of the 2nd gear grind issue, is that still in play with the 2012's or did they fix it?

Good to know thanks I plan on driving it like I stole because that's what these car are made for. I've also read where some people blame it on performance mods due to torque increases but I read right on tremec that the tr6060 trans is rated up to 600 ft/lbs torque which shoots that one out of the water. What is the general census of the grind?

I have a k&n cold air intake and borla atak exhaust already waiting for the car and will be put on when it arrives. Dealer has already said they don't void any warranty.

If you plan on driving the shit out of it, be ready to pay for whatever you break. The trans might be built to hold up to lots of torque, but the rear-end isn't and lots of axle-hop can break a trans as well. Just warning you in case common sense evades you...

I've had plenty of fun in the past 1017 miles just putt-putting around in my SS. Not as fast as my old 5.0 but it's twice the car. And it's a real head turner...

My 2012 was built on Jan 23rd, I only have about 200 miles on it so far, but I have not had any grind issues.

We ordered our 45th SS the first week of Jan, got word it came off the line on 2/14, it showed up at the dealer on the the morning of 2/17 and my wife collected it that afernoon.

Be patient, it'll show up soon.

My 2012 does it sometimes but only on the first shift into 2nd when its cold. If you slow down the first 1st-2nd shift when its cold, then no problem at all.

My car was ordered 2 weeks ago today so I'm in the same waiting position as yourself.

Hope I get a good transmission! Didn't think it was such a rampant issue.

This x2. I have 2012 2SS M6 and mine grinds from 1st to 2nd when it is cold. I have started just riding in 1st for longer than a normal shift, and shifting into 3rd instead of 2nd for the first 5 minutes or so of driving. Once it warms up, its no problem.
