Looking At A ZL1
Hey Guys. I've been in the market for a used ZL1 as I see the prices start to come into my range. I am looking at a 2012 auto w/ around 14,000 miles on it. $40,500. What do you guys think of that price? Should I be concerned about what the previous owner might have done with it (ex. beat it into the ground)?
Thanks!

Good thing is it should still be covered under warranty. There is also a recall on the supercharger to get it replaced for free it it hasn't already been done.

In fl and just paid 43k for an auto with 11k miles. They were asking 47k and it took me 3 days to get them to that price. Only reason i paid that is because i knew the car and it had 5k in mods with 1.5 years of warranty left.. by the way i absolutely love this car.

I have run my car as hard as anybody here...I can guarantee that. I must say this car can really take the abuse so don't worry about a whole lot about "beating" unless somebody actually abused the car and did not do the routine maintenance. If the fluids have been changed and the car is cosmetically in good shape I would say go for it.

Take a look at the tires. If he took care of it and tired are in good condition then no worries.

Not to step on toes but, the supercharger is NOT a re-call but, a TSB ... if it is making noise they (dealer) SHOULD replace it .... may want to inquire BEFORE purchase ... may help in negotiations if it has not been addressed yet.

drive the car but these car are realy robust which is why they are heavy. it will take abuse pretty well so I am not sure you have to worry. it has a lower 6,250rpm limiter and strong drivetrain. at 14k if it still has stock tires they should be pretty shot no matter what so that won't be a good indicator of much. if a car has been ragged out in any way you should be able to feel it. go test drive a low mile one as well and see if you can feel any difference. the supercharger has a 10yr 120k? tsb on it so it is really if the car is stock with waranty it is not anyting to worry about at all.

Just read a thread on here a few minutes ago where a member in Michigan is selling a 2013 summit white ZL1 with 5k miles. Always garaged and treated terrifically. Pictures seem to bear that out...Beautiful car... Asking $45k OBO.
Might want to check it out....

Mine is for sale on this forum and it only has 3,000 miles and I'm asking 41,500. Just as a comparison.
