My C4 story - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I was a youngster when the ***4th gen Camaros came out. I remember going into a dealership and seeing one sitting inside. I didn't know what kind of car it was at first. I couldn't afford it at the time, so I bought a used Chevy Cavalier convertable while I dreamed about the Camaro. I got the catalog for the model and picked out my paint color and options

fast forward a year. I see MY Camaro on a Ford lot. It was EXACTLY what I wanted, so I went in. I test drove it then traded in the Cavialier and bought it. While I was sitting in the office finishing up the paperwork, the finance manager stopped by and said he was kinda shocked that I qualified to buy it without a co-signer. He said he had had 3 others in trying to buy it but couldnt qualify.

They topped off the tank and was detailing it out for me while I was standing there drooling and just being in a state of disbelief that I OWNED my dream car in my early 20's. A salesman came up to me and asked if he could help me. I shook my head and motioned to the car and said "that's my dream car" He looked me up and down then said "well save your money for a few years and maybe you'll get one"
I took the key out of my pocket and said " I just bought the son of a bitch!!"
needless to say, he was embarassed and slunk away with his tail between his legs.

I had the ** 4th gen for aobut 7 years, but it got too hard to get 2 kids in and out so I traded it for a 4 door sedan.

Now the kids are older, the money's better and I bought a ** 5th gen

Neat story. Some side info: This site is referred to as C5 sometimes but our cars are not. C4 and C5 are terms used to describe the different Corvette generations. Not being picky, just thought I'd share how the terms are used.

after the shock wore off I was really proud of the "I just bought the son of a bitch" comment, but I also thought of a few more I wish I would have said.
