i see what your saying dragon eye but there isnt much of a comparison to be made i only noticed those two areas but i highly doubt Chevrolet would have to use a jet to make a car

Actually, the designer did use the Raptor for inspiration....along w/ the old Camaro and a few design cues from the C6 vette. I can see a couple similarities, but regardless of where they got the inspiration, I still think it's gorgeous!

BOX MONKEY.............Wow

BOX MONKEY.............Wow a piece of Aerospace trivia that I thought NO one would have the slightest clue about...I work for Northrop on the B2 at Edwards Air Force Base during the time of the Yf22 and yf23 R&D projects...I even saw the Yf22 (Rapture) land on its belly cuz the landing gear would'nt deploy...We at Northrop were all incredible amazed when the air force choose the YF22 instead of the YF23, the offical word from management was, that Northrop had many projects in R&D and in production for the Air force! So they gave it to Lockheed cuz they had nothing. Yet I agree (based on the data) the yf23 was the superior of the two planes...But if the Rapture can inspire such a Beautiful Camaro...Thank God the Air force decided to go with it...Karma can be a beautiful thing!

BTW..thats me in the pic...ANd dont ask what we were doing...Id have to shoot ya, if I told ya

NoodlesgoneWild, couple of observations;

First - It's the YF22 Raptor.

Second - "Rapture" That's what looking at the concept
is.

Finally - It looks like you're trying to hide the landing gear of the bomber???

Reflective paneling on the front of the plane? mmmm....nah.... My guess would have to do with cloaking the plane from radar while on the ground and out in the open.

No personal knowledge w/ the planes. I just figure the military wants this thing as well hidden as possible. The biggest asset the bomber has?...it's ability to hide from radar. Would the military want this plane hidden on the ground as well? I would have to say hell yeah!! I just saw the reflective paneling and noticed it wasn't put up perpendicular to the planes wing....it was put up at an angle as well. It just looked to me like if something was coming at the plane, they would want it to be easily directed right over it w/ minimal interference as possible....thus, leading me to believe they were attempting to hide it from radar.

That's pretty cool. I wasn't 100% sure, but it was my best edumakated guess.

Too bad we can't get a cloaking device on the Camaro, now that would be freaking awesome. Ever seen the movie batman begins....the stealth mode thing with the bat mobile... pretty cool
