Know some former Bimmer owners, said the same thing. When the warranty runs out SELL IT QUICK! A new non-refurbished alternator was $600 for the thing. And for the most part you can't buy parts for it at Autozone or Carquest, most have to come from BMW $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Seems everything on it cost 3-to-4 times or more what a domestic part would be.

I totally agree with the above. One of my employees purchased a 2008 550i which is an very nice ride. Amazing fast 4.8L that gives my SS a run for the money. His warranty has now expired and he had to replace the energy cell (what we call the battery) at $575. BMW service also says he needs new brakes ($2000), a new front shock/strut ($1500) and his oil changes are $375. Very expensive car to maintain. Camaro is way more fun to drive! (and better looking too)

BMW owners make me facepalm anymore.

Sadly...I've noticed Subaru drivers doing it too now.
First mod i did on my car .

What are you trying to say...

I know the feeling, there is a riced out standard impreza trying to look like an STi around where I live. Tries to race me everytime I see him.

Sharp looking. I don't think you can remove those mods easily though. lol

It's you're car and money. I'm with the others saying keep it unless it's a financial reason why you can't.

I'd think if you found the right person you'd probably do ok considering your cars more unique appearance. That however is a double edged sword as the more you mod a car and make it your own and personalize it the more someone else that doesn't care for it will have to do to make it how they like it.

It basically all comes down to time. If you can wait long enough to find a buyer to pay what you want then you'll be ok. If you're looking to get something and time is of the essence and you might miss out on what you want to replace it with then be prepared to be low balled by a buyer or dealer trade-in.

Take off ALL the plastidip. Unless you sell ot a C5 member who knows how to use the stuff, no one is going to want to buy a car with rattle can plastic on it that they might have to touch up.

I'd remove the mods and sell them on here, if your trading it in. If private sale then I don't think mods will matter too much depending on the potential buyer.

Agreed, does nothing to improve the looks of the car. Does the opposite in my opinion.

As a former BMW owner (14 years), I would have to agree. We owned a 1998 323is and just replaced it with a 2012 Buick Regal GS. Getting a BMW out of warranty is not the best idea. The last thing I did on it was replace the fuel pump, $700. After a few trips to the dealer, I found they charged 2 - 4X the amount for parts that I could get them for online. Unless you know a good mechanic for it, I'd stay away and keep the Camaro. Just my

Good move on the warranty, seems you have your mind made up.
I guess I didn't realize that passing on the opinions of former BMW owners, or relaying the FACT that parts are very expensive for them in an attempt to inform and help you meant "I" was a BMW hater.
