Did your XM trial get cancelled early?

When I bought my 2011 2SS in December I left with XM activated as part of the free trial offered. It got turned off 3 months later. I was thinking about subscribing this week when I realized that some chevy's get up to a year free. I think it was supposed to be 1 year for a 2011 SS, but can't find the paperwork spelling out what the vehicle was supposed to come with.

Maybe I'm confusing this with the Onstar offer. Does anyone know what was offered back then?

I haven't had a chance to call XM or my dealer yet. Anyone else have this happen?

I was told mine was only a 3 month trial, what did the dealer tell you? I would gladly take it for longer, but pretty sure next week when my 3 months is up, I wouldn't pay to keep it up.

$8-$16 a month depending on the package you buy (how many channels) and if you buy in bulk.. AKA month by month, 3 months at a time, 6 months at a time, 1 yr....

Dealer got me a year onstar and 6 months XM, but I think that was already part of the car price.

Funny, mine was just the opposite (relatively). My Onstar was only a 6 month trial which they extended because of a mistake on their part to 8 months. When I was setting up my XM, thinking I was only getting 3 months, they told me that my free trial ended in December 2012.

When i bought my 2010 camaro's the xm was for 3 months and the on star was 1 year. I just bought a 2011 traverse and the xm is 3 months and on star 6 months. I think in 2011 they dropped the on star to 6 months trial.

I just received my cancellation for my XM in the mail yesterday. Mine was just a 3 month trial and my onstar is only 6 months free trial. I'm going to let both cancel out anyways.

I noticed that the more I ignored their pleas (XM i mean) to renew, the cheaper the price gets. I received phone calls, emails, letters begging me to renew. When I got the phonecalls, I was asked why I didn't want to renew. I told them I didn't want to pay for commercials and that I'm quite happy with my ipod. That didn't stop them. They kept calling and writing. The last offer I received was $20 for 6 months and that offer went straight to recycling.

Its funny, I never got a single phone call or letter when mine expired. About a year after it expired, I finally got an offer to turn it back on for $5/mo.

So it seems like the free trial periods vary from person to person. Just wish I could find my damn paperwork so I knew what I was supposed to get. I haven't heard a peep from them the whole time. No email, no calls, no letters. The dealer must have screwed up giving them my demographics.

Maybe I'll see if I can fish a discounted rate out of them.
