Anyone done stainless steel brake lines?
Been thinking about the mod since the area I'm in has chemicals and such sprayed on the roads routinely through winter. Was wondering who's done it and if I stiffens/improves pedal feel as well?

Not with two people and sunlight. Without those two I had a very hard time. I did not bleed the ABS system but some say you should.

You need a Tech II to bleed the ABS module. The tech II will pulsate the ABS Module while you bleed the system so the brake fluid will cycle thru the ABS Module. So you'd likely have to take it to the dealer for a full bleed including the ABS module. Just search for tech II bleed on here and I'm sure you'll find plenty of threads describing what it is and does and why you should do it.

As long as you keep the reservoir full when bleeding you shouldn't get any air in the ABS system. You can also simulate the tech2 by bleeding with new fluid and then cycle the ABS by locking up the brakes on a wet or slick road and re-bleed. It's not a 100% but if you don't have access to a tech2 then it's the next best thing.

Get a power brake bleeder kit, makes life much easier. I have a nice Motive Products kit that has fittings for almost any car (even the exact fitting for our brakes). With all 4 wheels off and car in the air it takes me 5 min to bleed all the brakes and bleed the clutch master on my GTi track car (with Willwood 4 Piston Calipers all arount), I still havent used on the camaro but probably just as easy.

Do it yourself but borrow/rent/buy a set of flare wrenches for the lines. Trust me. |

We offer and use Goodridge Brake lines here 99% of the time, along with Motul RBF600 DOT4 Fluid. It definitely makes a good difference in pedal feel and braking response.
Install is pretty strait forward and bleeding them is easy as well. We use the old school 2 person method here. As for flushing the ABS module, a good way to do it yourself is once you have them all bled and in working order, put the wheels back on and go do like 8-10 hard stops on a wet/gravel road. By activating the ABS system a few times you will inherently flush the module, and then you are ready to do bleed them again. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.
