I have one key chain. For my house, mailbox, etc in my right pocket. I have my car key by itself in my left pocket.

No. All that extra weight from your other keys is bad for the lock cylinder

yes I agree but you can get the quick detach keychain style. So once I am in the car I pop it off and put it in my arm rest.

That's true, although they have probably improved the lock cylinders over the years. When I owned an '86 Camaro, I actually had to replace the lock cylinder because some wires were damaged from the weight of my keychain. I learned the hard (expensive) way to lighten it up!

I keep mine separate for most of the same reasons as everyone else.

Less bulk in my pockets
Less weight and noise while the key is in the ignition

And if I loose my keys I don't want to be locked out and stranded, lol.

Three cars, three car keys and three house keys ... I don't like to carry any more than I need to for the car I'm driving ... My wife is just the opposite, hers can be used as a theft deterrent system by throwing them at someone ...

I have the house key, keys for 3 different master locks, keys for three trucks (plus the keyless entries), boat key, and the camaro key, and oh yeah, my brothers truck key and about 10 others (i have no clue what they go to) are all on the same carbiner, but none ever hang from which ever key is in the ignition. im not sure i have enough, but i know where ever i am i got the key I'm going to need.

One house key to enter the house isn't much to bounce around...

I have a Camaro Key and one house key hanging off of it. If I take the truck I grab that key ring with a house key on it too.

To the OP... your buddy is dead on...

That's what I have. I need to replace mine soon, because the chrome is chipping.

I leave my all my keys in the glove box. Trying to make it convenient for the next thief. I have a SIG556 that needs to be broke in.

Separate key rings. I keep the house keys on one ring with all of the scan cards, office keys, etc.

But the car keyss are on separate rings.

I have all keys together but really don't use house keys. I have a key pad on the garage door.
