The rockers? They are ls7 rockers, I doubt it. YT6670 ultralights

Got a tracking number for the heads and rest of the engine stuff. Lots of updates and new pictures coming next week

Scored a DEAL on a Beck intake... one time opportunity I couldn't pass up. Super excited to have such a nice piece to top off the engine.

D.Coke - I know you mention that you avoid tracking cost, but it would be interesting to see what the grand total of parts alone will be in the car.

One more question - With the 429, Jake's 4L80e, etc are you expecting to freshen up the top end often? Are you anticipating any weak links in the car? (i.e. having to chase down parts that break?) I assume that's normal routine for a 10 second drag car... ? Maybe not...

The motor shouldn't need regular freshening, it wont be turning stupid rpms, has a moderate camshaft lobe, and moderate valve spring pressures. I'll run it into the ground, unless the rings get weak. I doubt I'll put 2000mi/yr on the car.

@69 Rebel, I will have one made once I get the transmission in and measured for length.

Plum tired out. Will get back on it tomorrow. Got a good bit done. Need to get a burr and a die grinder to clearance the front cover for the double roller tomorrow. Slightly touches in a couple spots. Got one head on and called it for the night.

It was cold in the garage, so I wheeled the engine into the foyer. Sophistication at its finest.

First task complete: Install crank key, tap on crank sprocket and oil pump drive, seat oil pump and install pickup without tearing the O-ring. Done.

Love that rollmaster double roller.

Oil pan gasket installed, oil pan bolts torqued, engine flipped right side up.

Next task, install donkey dick camshaft with copious amounts of assembly lube and break in oil. Check.

Install cam retainer with fresh bolts with loctite. Check

Install cam sprocket. Check. You can install this before the oil pump if you choose. I didnt. Installed at 0 degrees advance, 3 degrees ground into the cam. 113LSA+110ICL

Timing chain complete

One bank of lifters + trays installed

Head set down, ARP studs torqued with ARP assembly lube

One bank finished... more to follow

Lol....definitely not married.

Me and a buddy joke about the old days and a car I used to have...we built a 406 small block for it on my coffee table.
