V6 MPG?

Hey everyone, when I first got my camaro (automatic) back in July I was averaging around 12-13 mpg. I was hoping it would improve after the break in period but it still seems low to me. I now have around 3200 miles on the car, and installed a MRT version 2 exhaust and an Air Aid cold air intake. I mostly do city driving (about 90%) and usually don't drive it too aggressively. However, I'm only averaging 14-15 mpg. I'm getting my mpg numbers from the DIC, and double checking them by dividing the number of miles I drove on a tank of gas, by how many gallons I had to add to the tank. I just wanted to know of these mpg numbers seem normal to you, or if you think something needs to be checked out by the dealer? Thanks in advance for your insight.

I sugest you reset your MPG average and drive on the HWY at around 60-65 MPH. At this speed you should be averaging around 27-29 MPG. Keep in mind that hills, tire preassure, agressive driving and stop & go traffic will greatly affect your MPG. I drove to the Florida Keys this weekend and I averaged a speed of 55 MPH and I got an average MPG of 31.3 for 70miles or so.

Do a search, there is already a thread on this subjet with a bunch of information in it... Mostly it will depend on your driving style and Where you are driving... I am averaging about 18 all around and 26-27 on the highway, but that is here in the mountians of east tennessee. I am sure in a flatter area i could easily get over 30.
here is the thread I was talking about

WE've average 20 mpg in our city driving over the last 8 fills. the highest was 22 the lowest was 18. depends on who's challenging us to race?
very satisfied with that considering the average was supposed to be 17 city. I also only burn 89 octane only. burn cleaner and hotter, better spark better mileage. just years of driving and checking all the grades.

Wow I don't feel so bad now, I get around 20. I'm a little disappointed with the Camaro, my 5.7 Hemi Charger gets in the 20s.

While driving on the highway I reset the dic and got around 29mpg. I guess my average mpg is so low because I mostly drive city. I just figured I'd double check, thanks everyone.
