Will there be an official iPod adapter, no. I believe there's a headphone jack though.

isn't there a usb port to plug your ipod into? I don't think there is a headphone plugin... its illegal to drive with headphones on.

I don't understand what the usb port is for if there is no hardrive in the car unless its purpose is to charge your electronics which is equally as appreciated. I have an off topic question. Does the IOM trim package include the orange stitching or is it just the panels on the door and in the dash? |

from what i understand, the USB port allows MP3 players to use their computer cables to plug into the car & use the steering wheel buttons to control the device. that comes in the 2LT/2SS and 1LT if you get the Convenience & Connectivity package. all trims have an auxiliary input where you can connect the headphone output of any device to the car & listen to it through the radio. you just can't use the steering wheel controls with this connection
way to jack the thread! the IOM interior has the panels, stitching, & seats. the GMPP IOM trim kit is just orange panels

It is just a MIDI jack... same thing as you have on your iPod... you get a dual ended cable (usually purchasable through your dealer) I bought mine at Radioshack for 1.99.... All you do is plug one into the MP3 player and one into the jack... then change the radio to Aux input.
It doesnt work like Sync its basic... |

The ability to use the steering wheel controls is sweet!

i think you're talking about a normal 1/8" stereo cable this lets you just tap into the sound system, using the player's controls. if you have the C&C package or a 2LT or 2SS, you can use the normal iPod cable (or equivalent USB cable for your device) to use the car's controls with the device.

You can plug your Mp3 player into the USB jack (assuming you opt for it). Then the radio taps into the player, and you can now close the center console, and control all your songs, etc from the radio contros. I don't know exactly how sync works...but this is far from 'basic'. |
