You can get the 2012 SS for invoice. Go print a voucher at truecar.com

I picked my fully loaded SS/RS M6 @ invoice using this.

Should you trade-in or sell outright? There's one thing to consider that most people don't think about: TAX. When you trade-in a used vehicle, the value of the trade-in is subtracted from the price of the new vehicle, and you are taxed on that amount. No trade-in, you are taxed on the full amount.

As far as that statement goes, I have to disagree. The 2012's are special, they are the 45th Anniversary Camaro models. If you plan to keep your Camaro for a longgggggg time, I feel they will hold their value more.

A 2012 45th Anniversary edition MIGHT have a little better trade in value. There seems to be a ton of them though, so I sort of doubt it. It wasn't like it was a limited edition car. Just a special edition.

A regular 2012 Camaro will not have better trade-in than a 2013 though. No one cares if they get the 45th year of a car or the 46th year...

while I don't agree so much with the trade ups, it seems that you're not underwater on your current loan so if its what you want... I would wait for the 2013s though. not for the car itself, just that once they start delivering them dealers will start practically giving the 2012s away to make room. youd more than likely score a better deal and get the 2012 you want below invoice.

I think at this point I'm gonna wait for the dealer to contact me. $500 off of the MSRP is a long way from what I'm lookin for. The longer it's on the lot, the more he will want to make a deal.

I would sell your car privately. Garage kept low mile Camaro I thimk would be an easy sale. Then negotiate a good deal on a SS. Remember there are more then one dealer so if one doesnt give you a good deal, doesnt mean another wont. Good luck!

I wouldn't trade my IBM, but that's just me-- unless I could find another IBM, which you did, lucky dog. Them discontinuing my colour, then coming out with a boring gray-blue sealed the deal for me on ever trading in my car.

You could mod it to be faster than an SS. Not hard, and cheaper in the long run than the hit you'll take on depreciation, higher payment/insurance/fuel/maintenance, etc....

But if you HAVE to trade, definitely wait it out, 'cause that's no deal they are offering you.

Also check factory rebates and incentives, as they have 1000 off right now I believe!

Well I might be doin the trade up tomorrow. MSRP is $39,880, sale price down to $38,330 and I still have my $1,000 private offer from Chevrolet and I received another pop up window with $500 off from the dealer's web site. Still have to work on my trade in. So far they've offered $22,100 for my 2010 2LT RS with 6,300 miles.

From what I've read GM Supplier Discount can get it down to $38,674, still not much of a discount. Any suggestions?
My buddy just got his 45th 2SS for 36,000 before ttl. I think you can talk them down a lot more.

Does it have Ground Effects Package too....that seems steep for a 2SS without GFX (but sounds almost the same as the price I paid for mine with GFX)

are you looking to get brand new or looking at used ones also? I found my used black 2010 camaro ss for 26500$ which was a steal. Only had 21300 miles and in good condition. Just throwing option out there

With my extra $1,500 that gets it down to $36,880. Hell I'm excited, since when I pre-ordered my 2010 back in 2008 I paid full MSRP.
