Motortrend always pulls that kind of crap. Once a car's been on the market for a few months, they'll start rearranging comparisons. They were all over the Malibu when it debuted for 2008 but now act as though they never liked it.

Which is why their magazines are no better than toilet paper as far as I'm concerned....ALL of the publications....

Yeah don't worry about Motor Trend, they picked a Toyota as one of the best choices for a safe family car, even though they mentioned the uncontrolled acceleration in the article.

If that was an American car, it wouldn't even be in the running

The funny part is that I used to consider Motortrend less biased than most publications. Yes, they've always been in love with BMW, but it seemed as though they always at least gave GM and American cars a fair shot. Not anymore...

toilet paper ranks higher in my opinion. it actually serves a consistent purpose. its a dirty purpose, but it doesnt get wishy-washy till after I'm done using it.

It is curious that ALL 7 reviewers put the Mustang GT at the top of the pile and at the same time, put a link with "Check dealer Pricing On a New Ford Mustang!" right in the picture of all the cars in the article. Why not put a link to all of the cars prices? Do mags get paid money from manufacturers to advertize for them in supossedly unbiased tests and say good things about them?

Who ever pays more in advertising dollars gets prefered treatment. Truckin magazine is another one that's sells itself to the highest bidder. For example my truck in my sig was in trickin horsepower addition. It has over 800 ft lbs off torque to the wheels. And the truck that made the the cover had less than 400 ft lbs of torque but had a Maggie vs my twin turbo's and magnuson advertises big time in truckin

If I remember correctly, this time they liked the look of the VERY RETRO Dodge best, but in a previous test liked the look of the Camaro's forward design.? I hate the lack of consistancy! After reading the article what did they like about the Dodge that put it in 2cnd place? There was more that made me say ummmm, but fortunately I forget.
But one thing is for sure the 5.0 (20% smaller) is for real. GM needs to rethink the 2011 updates or bye bye to out-selling the Mustang.

Hmmmmmm, rethink the 2011 updates?? It takes a long time to engineer, develop and validate content. And powertrain is usually even earlier than other program decisions. So even IF GM decided they needed to up the ante (and that is debateable) the decision to do so would have needed to have been made well before the Camaro even came out last year. Plus to up the 6.2 L in HP, you would have to clear the hurdle of besting the Corvette, or at least move the Corvette LS3 up and then pushing that closer to the Z06. So there is a lot at stake to simply bump the LS3.

The 2011 die is cast so to speak and it is what it is. The convertible is the Camaro trump card at the end of this year. So considering the Mustang had a convertible all 2010 and couldn't outsell the Camaro...........and the Mustang had rebates all year and the Camaro didn't and they couldn't outsel the Camaro...............I think, and just my opinion, the 2011 Camaro will hold it's own, the convertible will come on board the end of the year and pull big numbers.................and then it's 2012 and we can have this conversation allllllll over again.

I agree!!!

The Mustang appears to be the new poster-child for magazines...but that doesn't make the Camaro inferior, not by a long shot. And when all the odds were stacked against it last year, it still outsold everything else. It'll be FINE.
