Now we know why there isn't a disable function. $75-80 a pop. Cha-ching for GM. Like I said, I'll likely be lining their pockets some more myself.

Worst feature ever and I almost had a horrible accident because of it.
My clutch burns every time HSA comes on now, but at least I'm not stalling anymore.

Ironically, I find it comes on mostly on mild hills where it's not a big deal, yet it doesn't come on on some large hills

I did notice the difference between the LLT and the LFX. Love the torque of the manual. I am excited for when I get to place my custom order come springtime.

I've noticed the same thing.

For me, HSA is the single WORST feature of my car. I absolutely hate it!

There was another thread here (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=326855) where someone discovered that you can temporarily disable skip shift by pressing the Set/CLR button on the steering column lever that controls the DIC display. It appears this will also temporarily disables HSA on the 13 Camaros. I can attest it works on my '13. Some have reported it doesn't on the 14s.

It doesn't work on mine or the other 2 I've tried. My friend who swore it worked for him just takes longer to push the button I think.

I have a new 14 manual and the hill assist I believe is misunderstood. Once activated all you have to do to disengage it is tap the gas. Mine works fine and my wife likes it for her use. yea I let her drive it!!! The system holds for 4 seconds and than releases, but if you tape the gas you can make it release sooner and it works fine. I believe people just don't know how it works. If you try to release the clutch first it will fight you for a second, but tapping the gas as you release clutch will disengage it. Simple
Hope this helps.

not sure about this. I have a 2014 and I stall every once in a while because I give it gas to get going, and let off the clutch, forgetting the car has hill start, and it stops me dead in my tracks, stalling.

so I do like the feature when I remember the car has it, but when I don't, I end up stalling, and makes it me look dumb

I end up stalling mine because only driving it one or two days a week, I forget where it engages. It engages a lot higher then what I'm used to. Still debating on purchasing and trying out the RAM hydraulic pedal height adjuster. Since mine is currently nothing, nothing, nothing, a lot lol.

I have a new 2014 lt and I honestly dont even notice it anymore, I drive everyday and I dont know if my driving style is different than everyone else who hates it or if '14 is somehow improved but its a non issue for me. Never stalled it, never anything. Only difference from my last manual that I feel anymore is it doesnt slightly rock backwards before I start to go anymore. Get the new car, youll love it.

I could be described as one of those who takes off a smooth as possible from a stop. So when HSA is activated and I did not pay attention to the DIC it does not show ip in the HUD! I will either stall or give it more gas and burn the clutch. I probably should spring for the Yaw sensor.
I have been driving standard Transmissions for my whole life without this and don't like it.

I have even stopped backing in my garage due to smoking my clutch too many times while backing up my driveway.

I like it. It's a little over zealous but I have a pretty steep driveway and it makes it nice

I have gotten used to it.. First few times it engaged, I stalled, but now I have learned how to use it... Just get used to the timing.

It is awkward when it engages but I have gotten used to it but probably because I live in south Florida where the biggest elevation change is a highway overpass and I never owner a manual car before.
