Well the car sold at 10K over MSRP. I am glad people dont mind paying extra and enjoying the car. It sadens me to know that this practice is ok. That people dont care and that GM who was bailed out by the US Tax payer lets this happen. I mean really this is no more than greed at its best. Oh well.

It's the Capitalistic system. Money talks , BS walks,..., those who want to play and play right away can have their way for a price and circumvent the system. No harm, no foul for them or the dealer who asks a ADM. Nothing is any different with the grass on the other side of the manufacturer's fence. Same principal works for them. Deals come and go, words and handshakes may or may not have any meaning as we have seen from testimonials time and time again here. No guarantees, ...nothing is for certain until one takes actual ownership of the car. An order is not a promise of delivery. As long as there are people who want something who have the ability to pay for it no matter what the price is, don't blame the dealers.

I paid MSRP and not a penny more. Some dealers do markups and some do not. I chose to do business only with a dealer that does not.

If I had to guess I'd say $1-2k only.
I bought my 2010 SS new for $33,500 (MSRP minus two discounts GM had going at the time). Sold it for $32,000 14 months later. The cars were still in demand, it only had 7000 miles, and I think I had optioned it in a way that was appealing to a large number of buyers (rather than specifically to me). Getting a good deal on it in the first place helped a lot, but I was surprised to get that good of a deal when I sold it since the 2011's had come out.

My guess is that the first ZL1's to be traded (which will happen soon if it hasn't already) will sell for MSRP or more, simply because of supply and demand. Once you can find one on any dealer's lot, that will change.

I priced a 2013 GT500 at a local Ford dealer in CT. Car priced at $65500 + $10000 "Market Adjustment". I said nothing and walked out.

I paid ADM when I bought my SS in 2009. This site has taught me to be patient and shop so when I got my GT500 last year, I did just that, patience and shopped a bit and luckily, dealer 1 mile sold me one for way under MSRP, banking on having me back for future sales. Last weekend, I went to a local Chevy dealer about a ZL1 and they want $10k over, others in 30mile radius are also doing mark-up. I will wait.

ZL1 Market Markup

Paid MSRP for #876. Don't give greedy dealers your hard earned money! There are still some good, honest dealers out there. You just have to look. Heartfelt thanks to Scott Moore @ Ben Mynatt Chevrolet, Concord, NC. and Todd Moyer @ Motortrenz. You guys ROCK!!!!!

Interesting I thought they were not honoring that discount according to
some earlier posts that made.
