1LE Polls
At fbodfather's behest, TWO polls have been created for feedback on the possibility of GM offering a 1LE. Please consider a visit to the two threads in the General Section...
1LE discussion and Poll #1: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197777 Poll #2: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197784 Thank you, sincerely. From Scott: The 1LE was a concept we showed at SEMA - Curious - what do each of you think about it? The car, that is - not the calendar...... Should we build it? We're listening! Camaro 1LE Concept Born in the Camaro’s third generation and refined further in the fourth generation as a road-racing performance package, the legendary 1LE option code designation returns to the Camaro as a concept intended to carve up road courses. While only a concept, it borrows production components from both the Camaro SS and forthcoming Camaro ZL1 to deliver a competition-ready package. Hash mark graphics on the front fender are pure Chevrolet racing cues, too. Vehicle highlights: ■Victory Red exterior color, with flat black hood and hash mark extensions ■Satin black splitter, rocker panels, rear spoiler and outside mirrors ■Sport suspension featuring Magnetic Ride Control ■Electric power steering ■Six-speed manual close-ratio transmission ■Lightweight 20x10-inch (front) and 20x11-inch (rear) racing wheels (satin black) ■Goodyear® Eagle F1 Supercar G asymmetrical tires (from the ZL1) ■Brembo® six-piston front calipers, with two-piece front rotors, and four-piston rear calipers (Chevrolet Official Licensed Product) ■Dual exhaust outlets with ZL1-style active exhaust and diffuser ■Shock tower brace ■Chevrolet Accessories red engine cover ■Black leather interior with Light Stone stitching ■Graphite Silver door and instrument panel inserts ■ZL1 shifter with Light Stone stitching ■ZL1 flat-bottom steering wheel ■Chevrolet Accessories pedal kit “The Camaro 1LE concept is all about the track,” said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer for the Camaro. “It’s an all-out race car package that pays tribute to that special option from the past.” . Although NOT part of the "original poll plan", I simply included it in mine to gauge what reaction would be...and what GM might do about it...
One thing's for sure: if no one asks the question, in addition to the SEMA package, it ain't likely to happen... BTW, in the "official words" of you-know-who, NO mention of the ZEE-words/numbers/letters |

I think the 1LE as is embodies the 1LE nameplate well. It is not what I would consider a Z28. However if they offered the 1LE as is with an LS7 I "would" consider it a Z28.

If the aftermarket can make some stainless shorties (ARH) that are CARB-approved, why not GM? It's not like there's going to be a huge production run of these, so I suggest using them as a GMPP-supplier, add these to the GMPP catalog, and get these on 1LE. There's a little more power, and I think bringing the dual-inlet from ZL1 would allow a little more flow potential, too, so that may be a nice, relatively easy way to use the off-the-shelf parts and a specialty part to give LS3 a little more power.
I'd love to see 1LE, make the same power at the wheels as the Supervisor, and blow it's doors off with technology. I'd like for Chevy to show Ford what a good chassis handles like.

1LE-Z28
It's a great idea for those that can't afford a ZL1.
1- Ram air or different hood configuration 2- Solid color option 3 - Bump in power. |

Only that he preferred a poll that was either YES or NO to a 1LE as listed/shown...adding "Options" was NOT a simple "plug 'n play" circumstance.

So if I am understanding this we can have:
1SS/LS3 + MRC + MG9 + ZL1 Brakes/Wheels/Tires/Diff/Axles + 3.73 = 1LE or nothing. So I, like many others, was wasting my time saying exactly how I would build a 1LE/Z28. After reading the first ZL1 reviews I say build it! It is really growing on me. I have all my LS3 bolt-on parts already so my 1LE will be close to 500 hp at the crank. My 1LE need not be afraid of the "Boss". And I will not have to mod the suspension to have fun at the track. And this car would hold it's value better than my modded SS. And it will have better brakes, and a stronger trans and diff. Can I just make one tweak, pretty please? Can we get cool red inserts in the cloth seats and some logo stitching in the headrests? That would be all I would need. Even though i love my sun roof, I can live without it. With my helmet on I have to hold my head to one side and it's very uncomfortable.
