Ever dry your car with a squeegee?

The California Jelly Blade actually got some pretty good reviews

This is a bad idea. Bad bad bad. The blade will pull any left over dirt or any other contaminents left on the paint and leave scratches in the paint. This will require a lot more work polishing the car then it would taking the extra 15-20 minutes to dry your car with a towel.

Not true at all. I've been using the original one for years and since then have gone with the jelly design. They work great, and in my opinion they cause less damage to paint then any micro fiber on the market. I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

I've never used one, but if you didn't clean your car good enough in the first place, a towel would scratch just as bad as a squeegee.

Exactly! Once you wash the car thoroughly to get all the dirt off in the first place, it works fine. I use it all the time.

Using the water sheeting technique and a single microfiber drying towel works quickly and efficiently for me...with no swirls. If I have extra time, I use the motorcycle drier to get the water out of the seams, mirrors, ect. If you're going to use a leaf blower, make sure you use electric...gas blowers usually vent their engine exhaust through the blown air stream...

The paint on your car looked incredible at Papa Johns the other day. I know it's a really low mileage car but, damn!

I disagree to an extent. A waffle weave towel has little pockets where debris can burrow and not get on the paint as much. A squeegee presses flat against the car, so every single grain is being pressed into and across the paint. I personally think a waffle weave is the way to go over a squeegee, but to each their own. Neither one is perfect.

there is only one reason I would ever buy or use that thing, that is when auto makers start making car bodies out of GLASS.

I used to use it on the wifes car, had great success until one little particle that must have blown onto the car while drying..... lesson learned.

I now use it to dry off our glass patio tables........
