I believe I somewhere it stood for With Calibration Factor, or something like that.

Now that motors are SAE rated the maximum variation is less than you see in all these dyno numbers. That points to one very big issue. dyno's don't read the same so they are not a true measure of real HP. they can really only show you a delta.

the same car that reads 522 on one dyno could read 495 on another dyno.

any number above the 520 range has to almost be mathmatically wrong. 520whp would only be 10% loss. most of the time drivetrain loss is more like 12-15% for a manual. then 15-18% auto.

that 550hp number is 100% dyno error.

That is why I don't put much faith in dyno numbers other than to show a delta (before and after) or they could show just a glaring problem.

you car is not going to magically gain 50hp with no mods though.

.

I wonder if ALL of the best numbers are from folks who broke 'em in hard & got the rings well seated.

Thinking same thing. Maybe the lower need a fuse pull or can only get 91?

This is the truth, too many peple have trouble understanding this. Chasis dynos are a tuning tool and that is about it. There are so man variables it is comcle seeing how seriously people take dyno numbers. I will say they are better then those butt dynos but neither compare the accuracy of engine dynos and SAE testing.

With mods - crank pulley with 9.55 ring, idler pulleys with relocation bracket, air raid CAI, and tune by Ted Jannetty.

These numbers are off based on the weight used on the car. It won't make a difference on the gains though. Nice gains either way...
