Stepped headers for road courses?

Doing LT's soon. I was wonder what everyone things about stepped headers for road courses? It seems they would be better because they create more torque down low. Any thought would be appreciated. I am pulling the trigger soon.

If you are on a road course and you are "down low" you are going slow. All of your time should be spent well up in the powerband. So it probably wouldn't matter. I'd buy them anyway, though, because they are cool.

They have a 1-3/4" primary for a little bit before stepping up to 1-7/8 (see kooks)? There are also tri-y headers that are basically 4-2-1 collector (see Doug Thorley & PFADT) vs standard 4-1 collector.

Are you just doing track days or are you aiming at a power/weight/torque goal?

Honestly go listen to some cars in person, and buy what you think sounds cool. I will never again own a car without oversized primaries and an equal length design, because that's just what I personally like.

And they also perform best.

You mentioned somewhere that you wanted to boost later on. If that's the case you'll need to contact Kooks directly for their 17/8-2" stepped headers. You could definitely still have the standard 13/4-17/8" stepped headers you'll find at places like MarylandSpeed, but the 17/8-2" will breathe better if you really do end up boosting.
