Car show questions.....

So im showing my car for the first time. Infact, its the first time ever going to a car show except for a few truck shows (but thats a different ballgame, sorta)

Anyways, my first show is a tiny local 50 car show with no theme. Its literally 2 miles (give or take a half mile) away, so with my latest detailing obsession and the assumed lack of hardcore people attending (I dont think anybody trailers anything here), I think I have a good shot at winning the clean catagory because its so close.

However!!!!

In June im going to the OCC nationals in Canada, and I'm driving the car there...

What do you do for far away shows? I know its impossible to be competative but I also dont want hundreds of miles of junk shown on my car. Do people like.... full out wash their car at the hotel(s)? Waterless wash? (that stuff scares me!)

...or just leave it be and let my jersey plates explain it? lol

Ive done shows over 50 miles away. Bring water in a large spray bottle, bug and tar remover, and you can clean the entire car with the spray bottle. Also, bring tire shine, and glass cleaner.

Last year when I went to Camaro Fest II they had professional car wash trailer at our hotel for a reasonable price.

Cleaning the car with detail spray and microfibers is just asking for swirls in the clear coat.

Here's a link from the Parking Garaged Thread and go to post #10 which Todd has a waterless wash going on. This might help to get your ride ready for the show.
