Hi Everyone! Newbie here!
Hi everyone! I am Dee from Buffalo, NY - a very snowy Buffalo right now. I am not a stranger to a Camaro - we had a 67 and loved it. Throughout the years that followed, I never quite saw another one that I truly liked until the newer ones came out! Looking at a dealer ad online really grabbed me and I am going to test drive it tomorrow. It is a 2012 Camaro LS with a 6 speed (yes, I like standards!). I am really excited to look at it and drive it!
This forum is wonderful - I have been reading so many posts! Any advice for me for tomorrow? Anything I should be looking for or looking out for? It is my first time walking into a dealership. I always made private buys before. Thank you all in advance for your help! Dee |

The price is right on it too and the mileage is very very low - last owner had it for 10 months. It's black and just gorgeous!!

During your test drive listen for any weird sounds coming from the transmission. I test drove one with 3000 miles on it and because it was not broken in correctly it had a very bad grinding when it shifted(automatic trans). If the price is right and it doesn't have the above mentioned problem then take it. You won't regret it. By the way welcome to the forums. If you do make that purchase be sure to check out the break-in procedure threads.

Thank you! I will listen for that sound! Hoping I don't hear it! This one has 3200 miles on it so I am hoping that it was broken in correctly.

My advice?
You're sitting by two identicle black 1LS 2012s. The one in Buffalo has 3200 miles......another one near Rochester has 18000 miles. Test drive the one with 3200. If it checks out and you like it, mention "maybe checking out " the other higher mile car. Create a sense of urgency on their end for a change. Might be good for $$$ off the price tag of that low mile one. They've been sitting on that 3200 mile car since October. Welcome to the Site. |

Dee, welcome to the club. My advice on the purchase is not to fall for all the add ons they will offer during your moment of excitement. You can say i'll think about it, and consider them later. Good luck.

Thanks! I think I have some really good advice. I will test it out and see what I think. I'll also let them know as an aside that I have other camaros to test drive and consider and will get back to them. I'm not about to fall for all the add ons that I know they are going to try to get me to buy. My husband is going with me and he is a pretty tough customer to sell so I'm in good hands!
