Gotta do what you gotta do. I tested a 2010 Mustang GT before choosing the 2SS Camaro. There was better visibility from the drivers perspective in the GT than the 2SS, however, there just didn't seem to be as much power (100HP difference). If you're willing to sacrifice 100HP due to your budget constraints, it's still a very stout vehicle, but for me, I wasn't willing to make that sacrifice. Ford makes quality vehicles, and you'd be helping out a current shareholder by purchasing one!

~$2,000 - $2,500 is pretty substantial.

I'd wait. As cheap as you can get a 2010 Mustang now, in a few months you'll get one WAY cheaper.

If your budget is that tight then that person needs not to get either. If 50 more a month is going to hurt you, not spending that extra 50 is still going to hurt you. Meaning he can't afford 28,000 either because after tax, title and all the other goodies his final amount will be the price of an 1SS.

yeah..... but if he were to change his mind and get a 1SS, he'd still have to pay for tax, title, and all the other goodies, and the overall price would STILL be higher than the Mustang. But it sounds like he wants the 2SS (all the bells and whistles.

Anyway, to the OP - If you're happy with the Mustang, go for it Make sure and test drive it so there won't be any surprises.

IMO if I was WhiteCrane, instead of the 2010 GT, I'd wait for the 2011 Mustang V6 with that performance package and mod it a little.

No not really, because then you have to add all of those things as well to the price of a 1SS.

This is how people get themselves in trouble. They start with a budget of x, then they say well x + 50 isn't that big of a deal. Then something happens and you need to use a credit card and you've got a grocery payment a month that you couldn't afford.

That won't be as fast as the V-8 from 2010.

Also I doubt the price of the 2010 models will be much better when the 2011's come out seeing as they will be more money anyway, and im already getting a GT Premium 400-A (spec) for $29,000 (automatic transmission adds an extra $1,000)

I think this is a good deal, don't you?

You're basically getting MSRP. The new V6 will crank out ~305 HP, add the performance packages which gives things like better tires, gears, suspension, plus the a couple of mods would end up being cheaper than your current 2010 GT, as well as quicker. The Performance Package equipped V6 will weigh under 3500 lbs, as so I last heard.

Right but will not have items such as 8.8 rear, limited slip diff., performance suspension, etc.... 2010 GT is a better buy especially if he can get it for $28K.

Performance suspension? That pack supposedly adds the 2011 GT's suspension. IDK about the other two...
